Meet The Team

Scottie

Vogel

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Scottie Vogel has always had a deep connection to Ogunquit. Spending summers in this vibrant coastal town, he worked at beloved local spots like Amore Breakfast, Black Sushi, That Place, and The Front Porch. After gaining experience in the tech sector, Scottie returned to Ogunquit, purchasing The Front Porch and later opening Crew OGT in 2021—further embedding himself in the community he loves.

With The Trident Inn, Scottie continues his commitment to fostering spaces where locals and visitors alike can gather, connect, and feel at home. Inspired by the inn’s historic charm and breathtaking views from its perch above downtown, he envisions a refined yet welcoming retreat that blends timeless elegance with modern coastal comfort.

Mat

Bushey

Originally from Massachusetts, Mat fell in love with Ogunquit during summers with his grandparents, who have called it home since the 1970s. After moving permanently in 2013, he built a thriving hospitality career, spending a decade under the previous owners of 2 Village Square Inn and helping launch two restaurants along the way.

Now, as Hospitality Curator of The Trident Inn and General Manager of Coastal Alchemist, Mat shares his passion for exceptional service and thoughtfully crafted experiences with every guest who walks through the door.

Randy

De Vega

Trained in Napa Valley, coastal Georgia, and now southern Maine, Executive Chef Randy De Vega brings a refined yet soulful approach to Coastal Alchemist. His journey spans Michelin-starred kitchens in California, banquet chef roles at The Leavitt Theater and The Cliff House, and time at M.C. Perkins Cove, all built upon formal training at the Culinary Institute of America. Each dish he creates is a reflection of his diverse experiences, blending fine dining techniques with personal storytelling.

Rooted in his Southern Georgia upbringing, Randy’s cooking celebrates locally sourced ingredients, bold flavors, and global influences from the Middle East, North Africa, and beyond.  As a lifelong learner, he sees Coastal Alchemist as the culmination of his craft—an ever-evolving expression of creativity and expertise.
